چکیده

The age of the virtual worlds has begun. In the last years we have witnessed an incredible development of this new technology, which is now commonly used by all the people that will visualise any three-dimensional data. For centuries the main application field of cartography was the two-dimensional visualisation of spatial data. Can cartography also profit from this new technology? A three-dimensional interactive topographic map does not know any spatial, thematic and temporal limitations. It offers the user the possibility to choose its virtual position within the map, permitting a more accurate perception and interpretation of the spatial and other related information. We are convinced that the use of this technology in the domain of cartography domain would significantly improve the quality of cartographic products and open new areas of application. The goal of the presented project is the design and implementation of an efficient system for the generation, visualisation and administration of interactive topographic 3D-masp. Since we are dealing with cartography, our aim is not to achieve realistic landscape rendering, but a true cartographic symbolisation in space.

Comparison Between Unsupervised and Supervise Fuzzy Clustering Method in Interactive Mode to Obtain the Best Result for Extract Subtle Patterns from Seismic Facies Maps

Pattern recognition on seismic data is a useful technique for generating seismic facies maps that capture changes in the geological depositional setting. Seismic facies analysis can be performed using the supervised and unsupervised pattern recognition methods. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we compared and evaluated the capability of two unsuperv...

Exploring Transition Textures for Pseudo-natural Maps

Pseudo-natural maps show land cover information in a compelling style that combines cartographic abstraction with natural appearance. To make this style available to the modern cartographer, a (semi-) automatic method that generates pseudo-natural textures for rendering land cover categories on maps would be helpful. This article focuses on a single aspect of pseudo-natural map creation, namely...

GIS Analysis of Land Cover Changes on the Territory of the Prokuplje Municipality

The monitoring of the territory of Prokuplje Municipality was done based on 1 : 25,000 topographic maps in three different time periods (1969, 1974, and 1984) and land cover map in 2012. Analogous topographic maps done in 1969, 1974, and 1984 were used, while in 2012 the land cover map obtained by using CORINE-like approach was used. Topographic maps are developed by aerial campaign, and today ...

Landforms identification using neural network-self organizing map and SRTM data

During an 11 days mission in February 2000 the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) collected data over 80% of the Earth's land surface, for all areas between 60 degrees N and 56 degrees S latitude. Since SRTM data became available, many studies utilized them for application in topography and morphometric landscape analysis. Exploiting SRTM data for recognition and extraction of topographic ...
